Q: Why is the mount made of out of PA12 nylon instead of aluminum?
A: LowPro mounts are made out of PA12 nylon because it is durable, chemical resistant, lightweight, and lower cost which allows us to keep the price low. PA12 nylon is sufficiently strong enough for rimfire firearms, especially the Ruger Mark I/II/III/IV pistol because the red dot is mounted to a barrel that doesn’t reciprocate.

Q: Is the mount durable?
A: LowPro mounts are very durable. The original production unit installed on the Ruger Mark IV 22/45 LITE pictured in the product photos has seen 3,000+ rounds over the past 6 months. It was used competitively by owner, Derek McCurry, in Steel Challenge matches without any issues and the red dot has remain zeroed without the need for adjustment. Additionally, our 10 beta testers haven't reported any issues.

Q: Where are the mounts made and where do they ship from?
A: The mount was designed by owner, Derek McCurry, who lives in Atlanta, GA. They are manufactured by our production partner in Michigan and ship from Atlanta, GA.

Q: Is the mount compatible with TacSol PAC-LITE uppers?
A: Yes, the LowPro mount is compatible with TacSol PAC-LITE uppers, with one exception. TacSol uppers have the same threaded hole spacing as Ruger uppers, however, they use #6-40 threads instead of the standard #6-48 threads. Therefore, the provided #6-48 x 1/4" screws will not work and you will need to source your own #6-40 x 1/4" screws to attached the LowPro mounting plate to your TacSol upper. I've been told that TacSol will ship you some for free if contact them.
