FAQ

Q: Why are the mounts made of out of PA12 nylon instead of aluminum?
A: LowPro mounts are made out of PA12 nylon because it is durable, chemical resistant, lightweight, and lower cost which allows me to keep the price low. PA12 nylon is sufficiently strong for rimfire firearms, especially the Ruger Mark I/II/III/IV pistol because the red dot is mounted to a barrel that doesn’t reciprocate.

Q: Is the mount durable and will it hold zero?
A: Yes, LowPro mounts are very durable. The original production unit installed on my Ruger Mark IV 22/45 LITE pictured in the product photos has seen 10,000+ rounds and is still holding zero.

Q: How are the mounts made?
A: The mounts are additively manufactured on an industrial-grade 3D printer. The strength, quality, and surface finish is comparable to injection-molding.

Q: Where are the mounts made?
A: The mounts are designed by me, a mechanical engineer, and manufactured in Michigan.

Q: Where do the mounts ship from?
A: The mounts ship from my home in Atlanta, GA.

Q: Will I be able to co-witness the stock iron sights using this mount?
A: No. Even though LowPro mounts are the lowest profile red dot mounting plates on the market, you still won’t be able to co-witness the stock iron sights. However, some customers have reported being able to co-witness with taller, aftermarket front sights from Dawson Precision.

Q: Are the mounts compatible with TacSol Pac-Lite uppers?
A: Yes. LowPro mounts are compatible with TacSol Pac-Lite uppers. However, please note that TacSol Pac-Lite uppers have #6-40 threaded holes and Ruger uppers have #6-48 threaded holes. Therefore, you must order these screws if you plan to attach a LowPro mount to a TacSol Pac-Lite upper.
